Antrix Corporation Limited is the commercial and marketing arm of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), incorporated on 28 September 1992 as a wholly government-owned company under the administrative control of India's Department of Space. Headquartered at the Antariksh Bhavan campus in Bengaluru, Karnataka, Antrix was established to promote, commercially deliver, and market the products, services, and technologies emanating from ISRO's decades of space research and engineering. Recognized as a Miniratna Category-I public sector undertaking since 2008, the company acts as the commercial interface between ISRO's technical capabilities and a global base of government and private customers.
Antrix's flagship offering is commercial access to ISRO's Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV), a reliable workhorse rocket that has carried hundreds of foreign satellites into orbit on dedicated and rideshare missions. Since the 1990s, Antrix has brokered PSLV launch services for small satellites, technology demonstrators, and Earth observation payloads from customers spanning Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Asia, cementing India's PSLV as one of the most cost-effective and dependable rideshare vehicles in the international commercial launch market.
Beyond launch services, Antrix leases transponder capacity on ISRO's GSAT series of geostationary communications satellites, providing broadcast, broadband, and mobile satellite services capacity to Indian and international customers. The company has also historically supported spacecraft and subsystem supply, mission support, remote sensing data distribution, and ground infrastructure services, drawing on ISRO's vertically integrated space program.
Over its history Antrix has built commercial relationships with major international players including Eutelsat, Intelsat, Inmarsat, SES, EADS Astrium, Avanti Group, WorldSpace, Measat, and Singtel, as well as national space agencies and satellite manufacturers seeking reliable, competitively priced access to India's launch and satellite infrastructure. As ISRO's commercial gateway, Antrix continues to play a central role in extending India's space capabilities to a worldwide customer base.
