The Arctic Space Center, operated by Arctic Space Technologies, is a highly advanced commercial satellite ground station situated at 65.34°N in Piteå, Northern Sweden. This strategic high-latitude location near the polar circle enables up to twelve passes per day for polar-orbiting LEO satellites, providing extensive coverage from the Mediterranean to the North Pole, along with a clean, low-noise RF environment. The facility boasts over 30 antennas across a single secure site. Key features include sustainable energy sourcing from wind and hydro power plants, complemented by backup generators and UPS systems for uninterrupted operations. It offers redundant connectivity via two fully redundant fiber routes operated by multiple telecom partners, with shared and private connections ranging from 100 Mbps to 10 Gbps. Security is paramount, featuring razor wire fencing, surveillance systems, regular security patrols, and a 24/7/365 service desk with a one-hour response time. The center utilizes an award-winning cloud-based satellite communications approach, recognized at the 11th European CubeSat Symposium. It is integrated with KoloDC, providing redundant fiber and network connections to European Points of Presence and Internet Exchange Points. Services offered include Hosting & Co-Location for customer ground station equipment and Ground Station as a Service, which provides fully managed satellite communication solutions from antenna operations to data delivery. Arctic Space Technologies also conducts RF surveys and offers resilient multi-orbit connectivity. Partners and customers include Eutelsat OneWeb, Airbus, ESA, Kinéis, Viasat, and the EBU.
