About Astroscale US

Astroscale is a Japanese-founded, internationally-operating space sustainability company and the global pioneer in commercial active debris removal (ADR) and satellite life extension services. Founded in 2013 by Nobu Okada, Astroscale develops the technologies needed to safely remove defunct satellites and spent rocket stages from low Earth orbit — preventing the chain-reaction of collisions known as Kessler syndrome.

Astroscale's flagship missions include ELSA-d (End-of-Life Services by Astroscale-demonstration) and ADRAS-J (Active Debris Removal by Astroscale — Japan), the latter becoming the first commercial spacecraft to rendezvous with and inspect an uncooperative piece of debris (a spent H-IIA rocket body) on orbit. The company is developing end-of-life and life-extension services for geostationary and low Earth orbit satellites, working with operators including JAXA, ESA, and commercial satellite companies.

With offices in the UK, US, Singapore, and Israel in addition to Japan, Astroscale works with government space agencies and commercial satellite operators worldwide. The US subsidiary (Astroscale US) is headquartered in Denver, Colorado, pursuing opportunities with NASA, the US Space Force, and commercial customers seeking on-orbit servicing capabilities.
