About California Polytechnic State University – PolySat / CubeSat Program

The Cal Poly CubeSat Laboratory, also known as PolySat, is a student-run, multidisciplinary independent research lab. It designs, builds, and operates CubeSats, which are compact satellites typically measuring 10 cm x 10 cm x 10 cm. PolySat's customers and collaborators include NASA Goddard, NASA JPL, and SRI. The program's achievements are largely facilitated through the NASA ELaNa program. To date, PolySat has successfully launched 12 satellites. The lab is located at Building 192 (Engineering IV), Room 101. The primary objective is to give students hands-on experience in satellite design, building, and operation.
