EDGE Group is one of the world's leading advanced defense and technology conglomerates, headquartered in Abu Dhabi, UAE. In September 2024, EDGE formally entered the space sector with the launch of FADA — its dedicated space company (FADA means 'space' in Arabic). FADA develops satellite subsystems, ground stations, synthetic aperture radar (SAR) payloads, optical (EO/IR) payloads, satellite platforms, and advanced space cybersecurity technologies. FADA's manufacturing, assembly, integration, and testing (AIT) facility operates in Abu Dhabi.

A flagship initiative is the Sirb ('flock') programme: EDGE was selected in November 2023 as prime contractor by the UAE Space Agency to implement a constellation of three fully domestically IP-owned synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellites, with the first satellite (Sirb-1) targeting launch by 2026. This programme is a cornerstone of the UAE's National Space Strategy 2030.
