Exseed Space Innovations

Exseed Space Innovations (originally Exseed Space Pvt Ltd) was India's first private satellite design, manufacturing, and management company, founded by Kris Nair (CEO) and Ashhar Farhan (CTO) with a team of engineers experienced in radio communications and space technologies. The company built products and scalable technologies for the space industry, focusing on assembly, integration, testing, and operation of satellites.

Exseed Space's landmark achievement was ExseedSAT-1, India's first privately built satellite, developed by a team of eight engineers in roughly 18 months. The 1 kg CubeSat launched on 4 December 2018 aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, functioning as an amateur (ham) radio communications satellite for India's ham radio community. Exseed Space was also part of a private consortium selected for a historic Assembly, Integration and Testing (AIT) bid to build large satellites for the Indian government, and the founding team included veterans from ISRO's Vikram Sarabhai Space Center who had worked on missions including Chandrayaan-1, Oceansat-2, Resourcesat-2, and Cartosat.

The company targeted Indian and international customers requiring affordable satellite missions for technology demonstration, Earth observation, communications, and educational applications, contributing to India's growing commercial space ecosystem under ISRO's liberalisation framework.

Note: the exseed.com website currently displays a 'Coming Soon' placeholder. Co-founder Ashhar Farhan and the core engineering team subsequently continued building sovereign satellite programs under the Satellize brand (satellize.com), which describes itself as the successor to 'six years building India's first private satellite heritage under the Exseed Space name.'
