FADA Space (EDGE Group)

FADA is a UAE space technology company launched in September 2024 by EDGE Group, Abu Dhabi's advanced technology and defence conglomerate, as part of EDGE's Space & Cyber Technologies cluster. The company's name derives from the Arabic word for space, and its mission is to develop sovereign space IP and expertise in the domestic manufacture, assembly, integration, testing, and operation of cutting-edge satellite payloads and platform subsystems within the UAE.

FADA organises its activities across two main spheres: remote sensing technologies — including synthetic aperture radar (SAR), optics (including multispectral), and infrared — and manufacturing equipment/platforms together with related software technologies, including satellite terminals and satellite platforms. The company positions itself as a one-stop shop for Earth observation space services, offering tailored satellite and ground station design and manufacture, satellite cybersecurity and protection services, data processing and commercialisation, space training and consultancy, space situational awareness, space early warning systems, and GNSS navigation capabilities.

FADA fosters collaboration among UAE-based space organisations to strengthen the local space economy, while partnering with international space entities to bring advanced technology and knowledge to the UAE. Notable initiatives include a partnership with ST Engineering to advance the UAE's Sirb SAR satellite programme, the launch of the TACTICA AI-powered geospatial intelligence platform (unveiled at IDEX 2025), and a nationwide Space Roadshow in collaboration with the UAE Space Agency and Space42 to inspire STEM education. FADA is headquartered at EDGE Group's headquarters in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
