Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) develops On-Board Data Handling (OBDH) systems for satellites. These systems are responsible for synchronizing actions and data flow between various satellite modules, such as Electrical Power Systems (EPS) and payloads, and the ground segment. The OBDH packs generated data and stores it in nonvolatile memory for transmission to ground stations, specifically when the satellite passes over UFSC or a partner's ground station. It also receives remote commands from the ground segment via Telemetry, Tracking, and Command (TT&C) systems, decodes them, and executes the necessary actions, including sending instructions to other satellite modules. This technology facilitates communication between the entire satellite and Earth.
