About Inspecity Space Laboratories
InspeCity Space Laboratories is a Mumbai-based deep-tech startup developing groundbreaking tools to support satellite systems that are essential for communication, navigation, and security. As humanity confronts novel challenges on our planet, InspeCity works to guarantee the long-term prosperity of orbital infrastructure through sustainable space servicing technologies.
The company specialises in three core areas: advanced green propulsion systems, high-degree-of-freedom robotics, and rendezvous, proximity operations, and docking (RPOD) technologies. These capabilities underpin its in-orbit satellite servicing platform, which enables life extension, eco-friendly refuelling, and targeted maintenance of satellites — reducing the need for costly replacements and minimising orbital debris.
InspeCity's technology suite includes GITA (a green propulsion system), RAMA (a multi-DOF robotic arm), CHAKSU (an AI-enhanced tracking sensor unit), RIG (an autonomous docking system), and VEDA (the central servicing vehicle). Together these systems allow RIG and RAMA to be transported to client satellites by VEDA, providing repair, inspection, and life-extension services with precision.
Founded in India and backed by iDEX contracts and $5.6 million in seed funding, InspeCity collaborates with international partners such as Orbital Lasers to advance the vision of sustainable, collaborative space operations. By sustaining space assets, the company aims to pave the way for greater international collaboration and innovation, uniting humanity's efforts beyond borders.
