Description
ARSAT-1 and ARSAT-2 are Argentina's first geostationary telecommunications satellites, designed and built by INVAP in partnership with ARSAT. Launched in 2014 and 2015 respectively, they are the first GEO satellites ever designed and manufactured in Latin America.
Both satellites operate in the Ku-Band and provide DTH television, broadband internet, and telephone services across South America. They are positioned in geostationary orbit at 71.8°W and 81°W, covering Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay, and adjacent regions.
INVAP led system engineering, structure, propulsion, thermal control, and integration for both missions, demonstrating full GEO satellite manufacturing capability including launch campaign, LEOP, and on-orbit commissioning.
