About INVAP

INVAP is an Argentine state-owned high-technology company founded in 1976 in Bariloche, Patagonia. Renowned for its expertise in nuclear reactors, INVAP has expanded into space technology, becoming one of Latin America's leading satellite manufacturers and a key contributor to Argentina's national space program.

In the space domain, INVAP has designed and built multiple Earth observation satellites for CONAE (Argentina's space agency), including the SAOCOM constellation — a pair of L-band SAR satellites used for agriculture, soil moisture monitoring, and emergency response. Earlier satellites such as SAC-C, SAC-D/Aquarius, and PEHUENSAT-1 demonstrated the company's versatility across science and commercial applications.

INVAP also manufactured the ARSAT-1 and ARSAT-2 geostationary telecommunications satellites, the first GEO satellites designed and built in Latin America. These missions established Argentina's independent capacity in high-value space infrastructure and represent a milestone in regional technological sovereignty.

Beyond space, INVAP delivers turnkey nuclear research reactors, radar systems, and industrial equipment to clients in Australia, Egypt, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, and other countries. The company employs over 1,400 engineers and scientists and operates under a public-enterprise model focused on national capability development.
