FG-ONE Shape Memory Alloy Actuator
Plug-and-play shape memory alloy actuator for unlocking and positioning tasks — up to 4.5mm stroke, 4-15N force, over 500,000 cycle lifetime, no magnetic fields.
Description
The FG-ONE is a shape-memory-alloy (SMA) actuator built on the arc actuator principle, where a centrally loaded SMA wire drives motion. It is designed as a plug-and-play component for satellite unlocking, deployment, and positioning tasks, with a robust design featuring automatic overload protection. It can operate as a linear or proportional actuator, with position control via its own electrical resistance signal or an external sensor. Benefits include noise-free, electromagnetically harmless operation with no magnetic fields or permanent magnets, low weight, a flat form factor, and high resistance to weather and corrosion.
