Maritime Launch Services (MLS) is developing Spaceport Nova Scotia at Canso, Nova Scotia — Canada's first licensed commercial spaceport. The facility is positioned at 45.3° North latitude with oceanfront launch areas providing excellent access to polar and sun-synchronous orbits (SSO) highly valued for Earth observation, climate monitoring, and reconnaissance satellites.

MLS has partnered with Ukrainian rocket manufacturer Yuzhnoye/Yuzhmash to launch Cyclone 4M, a modern medium-lift vehicle capable of delivering up to 5,000 kg to low Earth orbit and 3,500 kg to SSO. The Canso facility is designed with environmental sustainability as a core principle, respecting the ecological and cultural heritage of the site in Nova Scotia.

As a sovereign Canadian launch facility, Spaceport Nova Scotia addresses a critical gap for Canadian space operators and their allies seeking independent access to space from North American soil — without dependence on US or international launch facilities. MLS represents a significant step forward for Canada's commercial space sector.
