Nxgsat

Nxgsat is a Flemish deep-tech startup founded in 2024 and headquartered in Ghent, Belgium, focused on rewriting the rules of satellite communications through open, standardized ecosystems. The company develops software-defined, cloud-native satellite network solutions built on 5G-NTN (Non-Terrestrial Network) standards, enabling seamless interoperability between satellite and terrestrial wireless infrastructure across multiple orbits (LEO, MEO, and GEO).

The company leads Belgium's 5G/6G NTN HUB, a permanent testing ground for converged satellite-terrestrial communications, and has demonstrated interoperable broadband satellite modems and user terminals tested over real satellite infrastructure. Nxgsat's technology targets fixed and mobility use cases across land, sea, and air, emphasizing vendor-neutral interoperability, 5G-grade security, and improved energy and bandwidth efficiency compared to proprietary satellite systems.
