PERSEI Space

PERSEI Space (PRS) is a Spanish deep-tech spin-off founded in 2023 out of the European Innovation Council-funded E.T.PACK, E.T.PACK-F and E.T.COMPACT projects, led by Universidad Carlos III de Madrid together with TU Dresden, the University of Padua and SENER Aeroespacial. Its founding team brings more than 30 years of combined experience in electrodynamic tether (EDT) missions and research.

The company designs, manufactures, tests, markets and services electrodynamic tether systems: long conductive tapes that interact with Earth's magnetic field and ionospheric plasma to generate propellant-free thrust, allowing satellites to lower or raise their orbits, station-keep, or harvest power without consuming fuel. PERSEI's flagship product, the autonomous Deorbit Device (E.T.PACK-F), is a 20 kg, 12U unit designed to safely and reliably deorbit satellites, upper stages and payload adapters, with an in-orbit demonstration planned for Q2 2026 under the EC/ESA Flight Ticket Initiative.

In 2024 PERSEI signed its first commercial contract with Thales Alenia Space for mission-analysis services delivered through its SaaS platform BETsMA. The company is incubated under the ESA Business Incubation Centre (ESA BIC) programme and has received European Innovation Council funding and support from Comunidad de Madrid and CaixaBank.
