Phemotron Systems

Phemotron Systems is a multinational engineering group headquartered at Elephant House, Marina, Lagos, Nigeria, with additional offices in Daytona Beach, Florida (USA) and Nihonbashi, Tokyo (Japan). Founded and led by CEO Dr. Femi Ishola, an aerospace engineer, the company develops technologies, products and services spanning space and satellites, aerospace and aviation, embedded electronics, autonomous systems, optics and photonics, microwave connectivity and renewable energy.

The company's flagship space platform is the AI-MotherBox-1, a 12U CubeSat bus that integrates an onboard AI engine with a high-bandwidth hybrid laser/RF communications module (the OptoX Engine) to address the limited computing, storage and comms-rate constraints of conventional small satellites. Phemotron also develops the Delta SkySentinels, an AI-powered autonomous drone surveillance system for maritime and pipeline security, border patrol, search and rescue and agricultural monitoring, initially aimed at combating piracy and oil-bunkering in the Gulf of Guinea and Niger Delta.

In 2025 Phemotron became the first African-American-led space startup to win the Startup Space pitch competition at SATELLITE 2025, and the company has positioned itself as a key satellite integrator working to grow Africa's access to satellite technology and space-derived services.
