Picosat Systems

Picosat Systems was a Perth, Western Australia-based provider of small satellite solutions, founded in 2017 to reduce the barriers to space flight through pico-satellite platform technology. The company's flagship project was OzQube-1, a 5x5x5 cm PocketQube-class technology demonstration spacecraft weighing under 1 kg, developed with co-founders including Conrad Pires and Stuart McAndrew.

The company was recognized for its contribution to the Western Australian space sector, winning the Woodside Oil and Gas Encouragement Award at the 2017 WA Innovator of the Year Awards. Picosat Systems also trialled a satellite deployer in zero-gravity conditions and engaged in public outreach and STEM education, including presenting OzQube-1 at Astrofest 2017, the International PocketQube Workshop, and the CubeSat Innovation Workshop, as well as briefing media such as News Talk 6PR on their small-satellite work.

In addition to OzQube-1, Picosat Systems developed EduQube, a satellite-based educational STEM platform aimed at introducing students to small satellite technology and space engineering concepts.
