LAROS
Wireless remote-monitoring and performance-analysis platform for maritime vessels, tracking fuel consumption, emissions and operational KPIs in real time.
Description
LAROS is Prisma Electronics' wireless remote monitoring and performance analysis system for the maritime shipping industry, first developed in 2010. Smart hardware collectors (Quax units) installed onboard vessels gather synchronized, high-frequency data from shipboard sensors, instruments and control systems over a wireless network, independent of vessel age, size or type. The processed data is analyzed to optimize and forecast key performance indicators such as engine performance, fuel consumption and route efficiency, presented through a web and mobile dashboard for fleet managers. LAROS provides validated fuel-consumption and emissions data supporting compliance with IMO DCS, EU MRV and CII regulations, is deployed on more than 700 vessels, and also serves as the ground-side IoT data platform behind Prisma's MICE-1 satellite mission.
