About SSBV Aerospace & Technology

SSBV was established as Satellite Services B.V. in 1985 and re-branded to SSBV Space & Ground Systems in 2010 as part of the wider SSBV Aerospace & Technology Group. The Group operated as a network of high-tech, SME-sized companies across the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Poland, Ireland, Germany, Denmark and South Africa, headquartered in the SSBV building in the Space Business Park in Noordwijk aan Zee, The Netherlands.

Based on in-house engineering, assembly and test skills, SSBV grew into a product-based solution provider at unit, subsystem and system level, spanning ground-based simulation, test and communication equipment (TT&C modems, EGSE, high-rate data processing) as well as smallsat subsystems and components (sun sensors, reaction wheels, magnetorquers, magnetometers, GPS receivers, on-board computers). SSBV was also involved in developing PanelSAR, a smallsat-capable X-band FMCW mini-SAR instrument, in cooperation with international partners.

For Defence & Security applications, SSBV supplied the ACRIDS precision/guided airdrop system, RF and spectrum recorders for SIGINT/ELINT, and compact low-power airborne SAR sensors, in addition to its core Aerospace product lines.

As of this research (2026), ssbv.com is a dead/parked domain. Third-party sources indicate SSBV Space & Ground Systems BV was acquired by Celestia Technologies Group in 2016 and continues as Celestia Satellite Test and Simulation BV (ground/EGSE product lines), while the smallsat ADCS component lines are now produced independently by NewSpace Systems. This card describes the legacy SSBV Aerospace & Technology Group entity as it operated circa 2013-2016, the last period for which verifiable primary-source content exists.
