About Stellar Project

Stellar Project is a deep tech company founded in 2016 as a spin-off of the University of Padua, Italy, dedicated to developing solutions for small satellites with a high degree of care towards space environmental sustainability. The company's mission is the democratisation of space access, bringing together talent and creativity to develop bright ideas for smart and light satellite products and services.

The company's flagship product is LaserCube, a patented miniature low-power, high-performance laser communication terminal specifically designed for CubeSats and small satellites. LaserCube delivers throughput performance more than 10 times that of state-of-the-art radiofrequency solutions, enabling high-speed optical links for Earth observation, telecommunications, IoT, and M2M applications. Its maiden flight was launched on June 30, 2021 aboard a SpaceX Transporter-2 rideshare mission.

Beyond hardware, Stellar Project provides consultancy services for the analysis of mission deterioration risks for spacecraft and constellations exposed to orbital hazards, including space debris and space weather. The company is affiliated with AIPAS and the Access Space Alliance, and has participated in ESA and ASI programmes as well as the Horizon 2020 QUANGO project for CubeSat-based quantum and 5G communications.
