Technical University of Denmark (DTU)

The Technical University of Denmark, established in 1829 and based in Kongens Lyngby, is Denmark's leading technical university, with strong programs in engineering, physics, and space technology. Its DTUSat program gives students hands-on experience designing, building, and operating small satellites from the ground up.

DTUSat-1, the university's first CubeSat, launched in 2003 as part of the first-ever CubeSat rideshare, carrying an experimental electrodynamic tether payload. The program continued with DTUSat-2, launched in 2014, which carried a payload for tracking migratory birds via satellite-based transponder reception.

DTU's satellite work is carried out by interdisciplinary student teams supported by faculty across its engineering departments, reflecting the university's broader mission of applying rigorous technical education to real-world space systems challenges.
