Theseus Space

Theseus builds GPS-denied positioning technology for drones and UAVs operating in contested environments where GPS is jammed, spoofed, or unavailable. The company was founded after a viral demonstration showed that reliable visual positioning could be achieved with commodity hardware and software alone, without exotic sensors or proprietary components.

The company entered Y Combinator in early 2024 as the first defense company ever accepted into the program. Within months, Theseus conducted its first test flight, received feedback from U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), and shipped its first unit to a Department of Defense customer.

Theseus develops the Cyclops software platform and the Micro VPS hardware product, both designed for rapid integration with standard flight controllers. The technology fuses visual odometry and satellite map-matching to produce real-time position estimates over MAVLink, compatible with ArduPilot and PX4. It operates with EO and LWIR cameras, enabling day and night missions.

The company is focused on defense operators, OEMs, and program offices seeking NDAA-compliant, Made-in-America positioning solutions that scale across drone fleets without relying on GPS or any RF-based navigation.
