Description
UNAM researchers contributed scientific and technical expertise to the Morelos-3 satellite (also known as MEXSAT-3), Mexico's third-generation geostationary communications satellite. Launched in October 2015 aboard an Atlas V rocket, Morelos-3 provides broadband and narrowband communications coverage across Mexico and surrounding regions. UNAM's Instituto de Ingeniería and physics departments participated in research related to the satellite's systems and space environment characterization.
