About University of Warwick – WUSAT Programme
The University of Warwick Satellite Engineering Team (WUSAT) was a university-based program that operated from 2005 to 2025. It engaged 4th Year MEng students in a multi-disciplinary team to act as a satellite mission prime contractor. The program designed, tested, launched, and operated custom-designed CubeSat satellites for client payloads. WUSAT worked to European Space Agency (ESA) standards and followed a recognized Space Systems Engineering Methodology. Early revision stages of their projects were reviewed by engineers from Airbus, and later stages, potentially leading to launch, were reviewed by ESA engineers assigned via the ESA Academy's launch program. The program aimed to provide students with experience in designing complex engineering solutions within a multidisciplinary environment, emulating the work of an industrial prime contractor. The University of Warwick is headquartered in Coventry, United Kingdom.
