Warsaw University of Technology (Politechnika Warszawska), founded in 1826, is the largest and one of the most prestigious technical universities in Poland. The university is renowned for its space engineering programs and was behind the development of PW-Sat1, Poland's first satellite, launched in 2012, and PW-Sat2, launched in 2018, which demonstrated a novel deorbit sail technology.
