Budget composition (mid-range)
Methodology. Subsystem ranges are reference figures for flight-proven COTS CubeSat hardware, scaled by form factor. Most space hardware is quoted on request rather than listed, so the catalogue cannot set these ranges; where suppliers do publish a price, the catalogue median is shown beside the line as a cross-check, with the number of prices it rests on. Launch is priced at the published rideshare rate of $7,000/kg, which is billed from a minimum of 50 kg. A CubeSat weighs far less than that, so the band runs from your own mass — what you pay when an aggregator fills the rest of the plate — up to the full minimum ticket, which is what flying alone costs. Where in that band you land depends on who else is on the plate, and brokers do not publish those rates. Estimates are for a single flight unit with COTS subsystems and exclude engineering staff, facilities, licensing and insurance. Not an offer — supplier quotes via RFQ are the source of truth.
