About

PUSopen® is a simple, reliable, and thoroughly tested MISRA-C library for implementing CCSDS and ECSS Packet Utilization Standard (PUS) satellite payload communication. Developed by 12G Flight Systems, PUSopen enables developers to implement space communication protocols in approximately 2 hours and has proven flight heritage across multiple in-orbit missions with customers including Rocket Lab, Open Cosmos, Unibap, and European research institutions.

The library supports both PUS-C and PUS-A protocols and includes CCSDS Space Packet handling, virtual channels, multi-bus packet routing, and serial packet encoding. It is OS-independent and supports a broad range of platforms including ARM, Intel, Xilinx Zynq, RISC-V, and MSP-430. Language bindings are available for C (native), Rust, Go, Python, and C++.

PUSopen is validated with 800+ automated tests across 6–8 levels, compliant with ECSS-E-ST-40C and ECSS-Q-ST-80C, and built with CMake/Makefile/GitLab build systems. Two editions are offered: Code Edition (core library) and Premium Edition (adds priority support and training). Custom PUS service IDs > 127 are supported.
