About

The Mini Fine Sun Sensor (Mini-FSS) from Bradford Space is a compact, lightweight derivative of the Fine Sun Sensor, designed for small satellites and CubeSats. Like its larger counterpart, it uses an analogue quadrant detector to measure the solar aspect angle in two axes for yaw steering and solar array orientation.

The Mini-FSS retains the core advantages of the FSS family: an analogue sun-presence signal, internal thermistor, and qualification for demanding low Earth orbit thermal cycling and radiation environments, in a reduced-mass package suitable for smallsat missions.
