About

The Jilin-1 GP01/GP02 twin hyperspectral satellites (launched January 2019) provide 26-band spectral coverage from 450 nm visible through 13.5 µm long-wave infrared. Visible resolution is 5 m across a 110 km swath, while infrared channels deliver 100–150 m resolution for mineral mapping, vegetation stress detection, soil classification, and environmental pollution monitoring. Operating from 528 km sun-synchronous orbit with 2–3 day revisit and 600 Mbps phased-array downlink. Spectral bands span visible (VIS), short-wave infrared (SWIR), medium-wave infrared (MWIR), and long-wave infrared (LWIR) covering thermal emission and atmospheric windows.
