About
Cingulan Space is developing a LEO CubeSat constellation to provide global IoT (Internet of Things) connectivity for remote sensor networks, tracking devices, and machine-to-machine (M2M) communications where terrestrial cellular networks are unavailable. The constellation uses narrow-band radio protocols (similar to LoRa or Sigfox) to receive low-power data transmissions from billions of deployed IoT sensors and relay them to ground stations for customer delivery.
The satellite IoT market addresses the fundamental limitation of cellular networks — IoT devices in agricultural fields, shipping containers, wildlife tracking tags, oil and gas pipelines, and environmental sensors located far from base stations cannot transmit data. A LEO satellite constellation can provide global coverage at low cost per message, making remote asset tracking economically viable for previously unmonitored applications.
Cingulan Space targets agricultural monitoring (soil moisture, weather stations), supply chain tracking (container positioning in remote ocean transit), environmental sensing (wildfire detection, water quality), and livestock management as initial application verticals. The company competes with established satellite IoT providers (Swarm/SpaceX, Astrocast, Kinéis, Sateliot) but differentiates on message latency and ground segment integration capabilities.
