Comat provides specialized industrial services for the telecommunication and observation sectors within the space industry. Their expertise covers the entire product lifecycle, from development and co-engineering to manufacturing, assembly, integration, and testing (MAIT). They emphasize optimizing costs and deadlines while adhering to the stringent requirements of the space environment. Comat’s experience allows them to support clients from product development to launch, utilizing their industrial infrastructure or deploying teams directly to client sites. Key projects highlighted include their role in the mechanical part of the IASI-NG scan mechanism, where they performed co-engineering with Airbus, justification, manufacturing, assembly, and testing. They also provided assembly, integration, and test support for the Euclid telescope, deploying a team of 12 specialists for 3.5 years. Furthermore, Comat is developing laser welding technology for applications like waveguides in telecommunication satellites, aiming for shorter production cycles and repeatable industrial processes. They are also involved in the INPEPSS project, focusing on the integration of electric propulsion modules (plasma jet pack) onto small satellite platforms, supported by the OCCITANIE region and FEDER funds.
