SuperCam Flight Hardware
Precision mechanical flight hardware supplied by Comat for the SuperCam instrument aboard NASA's Mars Perseverance rover.
About
Comat contributed precision mechanical flight hardware to SuperCam, the remote-sensing instrument suite (laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, imaging) mounted on the mast of NASA’s Perseverance rover, which has been exploring Jezero Crater on Mars since 2021.
SuperCam was developed through a France–US collaboration led by CNES and the French research laboratories, with Comat supplying mechanical components meeting the extreme reliability and environmental requirements of a Mars surface mission.
