Constellation Operations and Ground Segment Software

Constellation Technologies & Operations (CONOPS) develops ground segment software platforms specifically designed for the coordination challenges of operating multi-satellite constellations. As satellite constellations grow from tens to hundreds of satellites, manual operations become impossible and automated planning, scheduling, and health monitoring systems are essential.

CONOPS’s software suite covers constellation orbit management (maintaining correct inter-satellite spacing, managing orbital debris avoidance maneuvers for the whole constellation), coordinated imaging or communications scheduling (optimally tasking multiple satellites to maximize coverage or revisit for customer requests), and fleet health monitoring (aggregating telemetry from all satellites to detect anomalies and predict failures before they disrupt service).

Key technical challenges in constellation operations that CONOPS addresses include: maneuver sequencing to avoid inter-satellite collision risk during orbit maintenance, fair scheduling among competing requests for the same coverage area, and graceful degradation when individual satellites fail. CONOPS targets emerging constellation operators (EO, IoT, broadband) as their constellation count crosses the threshold where bespoke spreadsheet-based operations become impractical.
