About
ElmSpace provides customized air bearing systems designed to enable ground testing of spacecraft attitude determination and control systems (ADCS) in near-frictionless conditions that simulate the torque-free environment of space. Air bearings float a test platform on a thin film of pressurized air, eliminating friction and allowing the ADCS hardware and algorithms to be tested and validated on the ground before flight. ElmSpace’s air bearings are developed to complement their FDA fluid dynamic actuator and G500 gyroscope product lines, enabling customers to test complete ADCS stacks. Customized configurations are available to match specific spacecraft sizes and ADCS hardware requirements. These systems have been used by institutions including TU Berlin for nanosatellite ADCS validation campaigns.
