About
LOXSAT is a technology demonstration satellite funded by NASA. Its primary mission is to test a series of cryogenic fluid management technologies in the space environment. These technologies include zero-loss storage and transfer of cryogenic fluids, as well as cryogenic pressure control. The satellite is scheduled for launch later this year from Mahia, New Zealand, and will operate in Low Earth Orbit (LEO) for a total duration of 9 months. The successful demonstration of these technologies in microgravity by LOXSAT is intended to pave the way for Cryo-Dock™, which is envisioned as a fully commercial cryogenic propellant depot in space.
