About
EyasSat is a fully functional nanosatellite platform developed for educational use, enabling students and instructors to teach and learn spacecraft systems engineering hands-on in a classroom or laboratory setting. It was co-developed between the U.S. Air Force Academy and Colorado Satellite Services. EyasSat demonstrates six traditional satellite subsystems found on a real satellite bus: the Structural subsystem, Electrical Power Subsystem (EPS), Data Handling (DH) subsystem, Communications (Comm) subsystem, Attitude Determination and Control (ADCS) subsystem, and Thermal subsystem. By working with EyasSat, students can gain practical, applied understanding of how these subsystems function individually and interact as an integrated spacecraft system, making it a teaching tool for spacecraft systems engineering curricula.
