About
Gravity-1 (引力一号) is Orienspace’s flagship commercial launch vehicle — the world’s largest solid-propellant orbital rocket by liftoff mass. It features an innovative bundled first-stage configuration with four clustered solid rocket motors, followed by a liquid-fueled upper stage for precise orbit insertion.
The vehicle’s first sea launch in January 2024 successfully delivered multiple commercial satellites to sun-synchronous orbit, validating both the bundled staging concept and Orienspace’s sea-launch infrastructure. Sea-launch capability provides flexibility in launch azimuth and coverage, critical for SSO and polar orbit missions.
Gravity-1 is optimized for batch constellation deployment, supporting China’s growing commercial satellite manufacturing base with competitive per-kilogram pricing and flexible scheduling.
