Harnesses

HEMERIA designs, builds, tests and integrates interconnection solutions for equipment used in all types of applications (commercial, defense, scientific). In January 2021, HEMERIA received CNES SME accreditation, thus proving its expertise, for the design, development and integration of its space harnesses.

Key figures include 20,000 connectors cabled and tested per year, 113 ARIANE 5 launches with HEMERIA harnesses, and 200 satellites in orbit with HEMERIA equipment. The harnesses are approved on projects like the IRIDIUM NEXT Constellation of telecommunication satellites, ARIANE 5 launchers, ONEWEB dispenser harness, and NEOSAT telecommunication satellites.

HEMERIA’s success is partly due to the IRIDIUM NEXT project. They are also involved in the MMX Rover project, designing and building solar arrays and harnesses for the rover landing on Phobos in 2024. Since the late 1980s, HEMERIA has designed and manufactured space harnesses for the vehicle equipment bay (VEB) of all ARIANE 5 launchers. They have also been selected by REDWIRE SPACE to design, develop, build, integrate and test harnesses for their first Staark® LEO-S10 robotic arm.

Their facilities include more than 4,000 sq-m of ISO 8 clean rooms, an ISO 5 zone, and 10 electrical test benches. Production is digitized with personalized cabling software updated in real time. Technical expertise includes installation of harnesses on structure, cabling and testing of CTA lines, with 550 km of wire cut per year. They hold CNES and ESA approval certificates and also produce harnesses for defense and nuclear applications. Services range from small production runs to constellations, offering structure/harness/MLI synergy and in-house design capacity to meet customer needs, with secure stock of components for design flexibility and guaranteed lead-times, and worldwide deliveries.
