About
ADEO is HPS’s scalable family of deployable deorbit sails designed to meet the under-5-year post-mission deorbit requirement for LEO spacecraft. It requires no propellant or active steering, making it usable even on spacecraft without propulsion systems. ADEO has flown and been verified multiple times in orbit, including an ION-SVC-003 deployment in December 2022 aboard a D-Orbit carrier. The family spans five variants: ADEO-Pico (1-20 kg satellites), ADEO-Cube (5-50 kg), ADEO-N/Nano (20-250 kg), ADEO-M/Medium (100-700 kg, electrical motor deployment), and ADEO-L/Large (500-1,500 kg, release-nut activation).
