About

Hubble Network is a US startup building a satellite constellation that can receive standard Bluetooth signals from ordinary Bluetooth-enabled devices (phones, trackers, IoT sensors) directly from space — eliminating the need for cellular or WiFi infrastructure to track assets globally. The company achieved a groundbreaking demonstration in 2024, receiving a Bluetooth signal from a standard chip at a satellite 600 km in altitude — the first-ever direct Bluetooth satellite connection.

Conventional asset tracking via Bluetooth requires a smartphone or gateway within ~100 meters of a Bluetooth tag. Hubble Network’s approach breaks this limitation: by flying satellites with very sensitive receivers and antennas capable of detecting the weak Bluetooth signal from the ground, any standard Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) device can be tracked from orbit globally without any additional hardware.

This creates a massive market opportunity: the 4+ billion BLE chips already deployed globally (in consumer products, industrial trackers, medical devices, agricultural sensors) could potentially be made globally trackable simply by using the Hubble Network satellite service — no hardware upgrade required. Applications include global asset tracking (shipping containers, pallets, vehicles), livestock monitoring, cold chain monitoring, and industrial equipment tracking across remote areas.
