About
IberEspacio’s Space Engineering and Systems Integration Services provide satellite prime contractors and space agencies with specialist engineering support across the full spacecraft development and operations lifecycle. Based at the integrated engineering and manufacturing campus in Torrejón de Ardoz, Madrid, the team delivers services spanning thermal engineering, propulsion systems, structural design and integration, reliability/availability/maintainability/safety (RAMS) analysis, and in-orbit flight data analysis — acting as a high-value subcontractor to major European and international space programs.
Thermal engineering services encompass system-level thermal analysis and modeling, custom thermal software library development, and complete thermal control architecture definition for new satellite platforms. Engineers develop thermal mathematical models (TMMs) validated against test data, perform transient and steady-state simulations, and provide AIT campaign support including design and supply of bespoke ground support equipment (GSE). Thermal control design and analysis services are tightly integrated with the company’s hardware manufacturing capability, enabling end-to-end delivery.
In propulsion engineering, IberEspacio designs and supplies xenon electronic pressure regulators and associated propellant management hardware for electric propulsion systems, and performs fluid system analysis for chemical and electric propulsion subsystems. RAMS services deliver probabilistic risk assessments, FMEA/FMECA, and fault tree analysis in compliance with ESA ECSS standards, supporting the qualification and safety documentation of complex space systems.
IberEspacio’s most prominent structural integration achievement is the complete primary spacecraft structure (load-bearing skeleton) delivered for the Israeli SpaceIL Beresheet lunar lander, which launched in February 2019 — making it the first lunar lander structure from a southern European company. The combined ARQUIMEA-IberEspacio campus includes a cleanroom exceeding 1,500 m² within the broader 10,000 m² facility, enabling AIT activities for satellite subsystems in a controlled environment. Flight data analysis services process and interpret thermal and propulsion telemetry from operational spacecraft, validating in-flight performance and supporting anomaly resolution.
