The ESAA-01 Mission Patch describes the spirit of the project in its center, embodied by a yellow, blue, and red hand – an Ecuadorian hand – reaching for the Moon and the stars. Following tradition, it includes the name of the astronaut participating in the mission, Ronnie Nader Bello, the official mission name: ESAA-01, the name of the participating country, Ecuador, and a Latin phrase, EX SOMINUS AD ASTRA, which means ‘From a dream to the stars’. This insignia represents the aspirations and national pride associated with Ecuador’s inaugural journey into space.
