About
JAOPS offers a comprehensive Operations-as-a-Service (OaaS) model that allows satellite operators, startups, and research organizations to outsource all or part of their spacecraft operations to JAOPS’s experienced team — eliminating the need to build internal operations infrastructure from scratch.
The service covers the full mission lifecycle: mission control center (MCC) IT infrastructure setup (cloud or hybrid), ground segment architecture, operator training and certification programs, mission simulation and rehearsal environments, and 24/7 real-time mission operations. JAOPS uses flight-proven software stacks and draws on operational experience spanning the International Space Station, Earth observation satellites, lunar landers, and rovers.
JAOPS has demonstrated mission control capability for lunar missions, including supporting the Yaoki lunar rover on the Moon’s surface. The OaaS model delivers significant cost reductions: up to 91% savings on infrastructure, 83% on tooling, and 44% on personnel. Implementation follows a 6-month onboarding: 2 months MCC setup, 2 months training and interface testing, and 2 months full simulation and rehearsal.
