FlexRS Flexible Reflecting Surfaces

Family of three flexible/deployable reflector surface material technologies for space antennas — Category I membranes, Category II knitted meshes, Category III self-supporting shells.

Technical specifications

Category I frequency
Up to Ka-band
Category II frequency
Up to Ku-band
Category III frequency
Up to Ka-band, self-supporting

About

FlexRS comes in three categories: Category I (Flexible Reflecting Shell Membranes — very thin, tailorable, functionalizable up to Ka-band), Category II (Knitted Metal Meshes and Supporting Cable Networks — currently up to Ku-band with grating-lobe reduction), and Category III (Self-Supporting Flexible Shells — higher stiffness, fully deployable and shape-stable under microgravity, up to Ka-band, reducing the need for support structures).
