About

WorldView Legion is Maxar Technologies’ next-generation very-high-resolution Earth observation constellation, consisting of six satellites designed to provide 30 cm panchromatic resolution imagery with dramatically higher revisit rates than previous single WorldView satellites. The constellation entered service with the first satellites launched in 2022–2023.

The WorldView Legion constellation multiplies the collection capacity of Maxar’s existing WorldView-1, -2, and -3 fleet, enabling multiple passes per day over priority targets for defense, intelligence, and commercial customers. Key use cases include military and intelligence reconnaissance, change detection for infrastructure and military base monitoring, precision agriculture, urban planning, and insurance/financial intelligence.

Maxar’s imagery is licensed to the US National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) through the EnhancedView program, which represents the majority of Maxar’s revenue. Commercial customers access imagery through Maxar’s direct sales and reseller network, and via the Maxar Geospatial Platform (cloud-based imagery analytics).
