About
Nova’s fully reusable design changes the fundamentals of cost, availability, and reliability of launch. Full reusability means production costs are amortized across launches and flight frequency isn’t limited by production rates. With 100% reusability, every mission uses flight-proven hardware, and the model also enables return shipments from space to Earth, unlocking new mission types and business opportunities. This rapidly reusable model is not only economically sensible for today’s emerging market but is also the only approach to sustainably scaling the industry.
The reusable upper stage features a liquid, regeneratively cooled metallic reentry heat shield with an integrated modular liquid hydrogen/liquid oxygen (LH2/LOX) rocket engine. It is robust, resilient to damage, and operates with passive failure modes. Designed for minimal refurbishment between flights, the second stage unlocks rapid turnaround and offers direct access to GTO, TLI, and other high-energy orbits, unlimited engine restarts, and precision, powered vertical landings from orbit to the launch site. The rocket also boasts a 100% reusable payload fairing, dynamic space operations for rendezvous, capture, and repositioning assets, and high thrust, high efficiency with LH2 fuel.
