NXTCOMM Defense Electronically Steered Antenna (ESA)

NXTCOMM Defense is a dedicated division serving the military mobile Communications On-the-Move (COTM) market with scalable, highly conformal Electronically Steered Antenna (ESA) technology. Built on the same proven fragmented aperture technology used in NXTCOMM’s commercial AeroMax antenna, the Defense ESA supports the U.S. defense imperative to leverage next-generation Geostationary (GEO) and Non-Geostationary (NGSO) satellites, including Low Earth Orbit (LEO) and Medium Earth Orbit (MEO) constellations.

The low-profile, electronically steerable flat-panel antenna gives warfighters the ability to track and switch among multiple satellites across orbits, delivering secure, resilient, wideband communications on the move. It is designed to serve special operations forces and other mobile units that require portability, low-profile stealth, broadband capacity and high-level operational performance, with configurations scalable for vehicle-mounted or manpack use.

NXTCOMM Defense antennas eliminate the need to hard-wire separate hardware components to track LEO, MEO and GEO satellites, leveraging fragmented aperture technology already proven in demanding military applications. The division is commercializing this technology at NXTCOMM’s advanced antenna manufacturing facility in metro Atlanta, targeting rugged, mission-critical connectivity for defense and aerospace end users.
