PRATHAM is the first student-built satellite developed at IIT Delhi, launched aboard ISRO’s PSLV-C35 on September 26, 2016. The 10 kg nanosatellite was designed and built entirely by IIT Delhi students and faculty. Its primary scientific mission was to measure Total Electron Content (TEC) in the ionosphere, contributing to improved GPS signal accuracy. PRATHAM operated in a sun-synchronous orbit at approximately 670 km altitude and transmitted telemetry on amateur radio frequencies, involving the global amateur radio community in its operations.
