About
OrbitCmd® is Qwaltec’s proprietary Mission Operations Center-in-a-Box solution for satellite ground system operations, delivered as a fully preconfigured virtual machine. Developed by spacecraft operators for spacecraft operators, it consolidates all critical mission control capabilities into a single deployable system — dramatically reducing the time, cost, and technical complexity of standing up a satellite ground station.
The platform provides dynamic commanding and telemetry processing with real-time monitoring, data visualization and analysis, command automation via scripting, and a time-series database for historical data retention. Its pluggable architecture enables seamless integration with existing mission components and future expansion, while its open-source foundation avoids vendor lock-in. Flight dynamics and mission planning interfaces come pre-integrated.
OrbitCmd® ships with 75% pre-configuration complete, with Qwaltec available to customize the remaining 25% for specific mission requirements. It is particularly suited for small satellite startups, university CubeSat programs, and commercial operators that lack dedicated mission operations teams but need professional-grade ground control capability.
