About

The Advanced Technology Microwave Sounder (ATMS) is a passive microwave radiometer developed by SDL (Space Dynamics Laboratory at Utah State University) for NASA and NOAA Joint Polar Satellite System (JPSS) missions. ATMS provides 22-channel microwave observations from 23 GHz to 183 GHz, delivering vertical atmospheric temperature and moisture profiles for weather forecasting and climate monitoring. Flying on Suomi-NPP, NOAA-20, and NOAA-21 satellites, ATMS data is a critical input to operational numerical weather prediction models worldwide.
