About
The University of Southampton Astronautics Research Group conducts an active CubeSat systems engineering programme covering all mission phases from concept design to operations. The programme develops novel attitude determination and control systems, advanced composite structures for small satellites, miniaturised propulsion modules, and inter-satellite communication systems. Southampton researchers have contributed to ESA technology readiness level advancement programmes and UK Space Agency funded CubeSat missions, delivering flight-heritage subsystems and mission design methodologies applicable to 1U–6U CubeSat platforms. The programme trains engineering graduates with hands-on spacecraft development experience.
